Compatibility is the capacity for two systems to work together without having to be altered to do so.

Introduction

In InterSystems IRIS 2024.3 and subsequent IRIS versions, the AutoML component is now delivered as a separate Python package that is installed after installation. Unfortunately, some recent versions of Python packages that AutoML relies on have introduced incompatibilities, and can cause failures when training models (TRAIN MODEL statement). If you see an error mentioning "TypeError" and the keyword argument "fit_params" or "sklearn_tags", read on for a quick fix.

The first developer previews of InterSystems IRIS® data platform, InterSystems IRIS® for Health, and HealthShare® Health Connect 2025.1 have been posted to the WRC developer preview site.  Containers can be found on our container registry and are tagged latest-preview.

These developer previews include the feature to migrate to IBM "Open XL C/C++ for AIX" 17.x compiler ensuring compatibility with future AIX builds as older compilers approach end-of-support. This migration focuses on the aixopenssl30 target, supporting SSL3 on AIX 7.2 and 7.3.

It's been a long time since I didn't write an update post on IoP.

So what's new since IoP command line interface was released?

Two new big features were added to IoP:

  • Rebranding: the grongier.pex module was renamed to iop to reflect the new name of the project.
  • Async support: IoP now supports async functions and coroutines.

Rebranding

The grongier.pex module was renamed to iop to reflect the new name of the project.

The grongier.pex module is still available for backward compatibility, but it will be removed in the future.

Question Wesley West · Nov 15, 2023

I am trying to execute a program from within cache using a $zf call

S X=$ZF(-1,"C:\""Program Files (x86)""\Car-Part\Messaging\iCPM.exe")

For the sake of this post I changed it to open notepad

S X=$ZF(-1,"C:\Windows\notepad.exe")

If I call it directly from terminal notepad opens and all is happy.

If I add it to a program we use to run certain tasks once an hour or even every 10 minutes it will fire off notepad but it will be in the background.

The messaging application we use will not work at all in the background and needs to be in the foreground.

Question Jefferson Borges · Jul 21, 2022

Good morning. Perhaps someone can tell me if this IRIS health communit version (IRISHealth_Community-2022.1.0.209.0-lnxubuntu2004x64) is supposed

to work in an Ubuntu 20.04 LTS installation in an Oracle Virtual Box .

I am trying to install different versions on Ubuntu . I tried with the 18 version. No luck. Than I've tried with the 20.04 version. No luck either.

The error I am having now is below

///////////////////////// error message from the install ////////////////////////////////

home/epic/epicinstall/IRISHealth_Community-2022.1.0.209.0-lnxubuntu2004x64# ./irisinstall

After linking in Oracle Table with Field Column's Data Types of NUMBER, my updates into these table fields are resulting in data that is being rounded to 2 decimal places. I insert a record with 1234.1234 and 1234.12 is stored.

It appears Cache xDBC might be manipulating my values prior to sending to Oracle. Is there a setting or system parameter that is controlling this? If so, is there a way to relax this from occurring so the values I send are being stored in Oracle with the same values?

Question David Hockenbroch · May 18, 2021

I'm trying to set up VS Code for ObjectScript using the instructions found here. I've got both Cache 2018.1.2.309.0 and IRIS 2020.1.0.215.0. When I try to connect to either one of them the connection fails, and I get a notification in the bottom right corner that says "Unexpected token < in JSON at position 0". I've checked the JSON settings file that VS Code uses, and they're fine and formatted properly. All of the settings I've entered are correct. I suspect that there's a response coming back from the server that VS Code is expecting to be JSON, but isn't. It pops up any time I click on

Hello,

I was wondering if InterSystems has support for the following standards built into IRIS or Health Connect / Ensemble:

1.        Healthcare FHIR(Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resource) Protocol

2.        Enterprise Resource Planning OAGIS (Open Applications Group Integration Specification) Protocol / Supply Chain Management GS1-EPCIS (Electronic Product Code Information Services)

3.        Education, Certification, Credentials FERPA CEDS (Common Education Data Standards) Protocol

Question Anzelem Sanyatwe · Apr 17, 2021

We are seeing more and more customers being lured with latest infrastructure technologies, particularly Composable Infrastructure. Coming with all sorts of data center consolidations and costs savings.

Question is: are there any concerns for HealthShare/TrakCare being run on these platforms or things to look out for? Anyone out there, already on these platforms?

To be more specific this is HPe Synergy with 480 Compute blades booting as bare metal.

Regards;

Anzelem.

Starting with 2017.1, InterSystems is adding Ubuntu (64-bit) as a third linux server platform. Prior to 2017.1 Ubuntu was already available as a development platform and customers could use InterSystems distributions build for SUSE to run on Ubuntu. As a result there are a few license key implications for 64-bit linux versions starting with Caché and Ensemble 2017.1:

a) Customers using RedHat will observe no changes

b) Customers using InterSystems products(1) for SUSE on SUSE will need new license keys (no charge)

Question Dmitry Maslennikov · Jul 20, 2018

Just got the new beta version of Docker, with depreciation warning of AUFS. It's so bad news when InterSystems does not support used by default storage driver overlay2. Recently I thought to play with Google Kubernetes Engine, and realized that I can't work with InterSystems products there due to incompatibility with Storage Driver. Maybe it's already time to think about support?

Question Dmitry Maslennikov · Sep 17, 2016

Working on implementation FHIR to my project, I found interesting project HAPI-FHIR, which could help me to quickly launch my FHIR api server with InterSystems Caché as a storage, because this projects uses Hibernate to connect to database, as an example they use DerbyDB. I tried to change settings to use InterSystems Caché, but unfortunately it does not work and throw some errors inside HIbernate. As I found in Caché documentation, I have not some many options, I just have to set Cache dialect, and set database url.  This projects uses Hibernate 5.1

In old Caché versions it was possible to create a new role based on predefined %Developer by copying it and adding some resources as needed. It was true at least from 2010.1 to 2015.1.

After upgrade from 2015.1.4 to 2017.2.1 it turned that it's only partially true now. User with a "New-Developer" role can enter Studio and open existing cls/mac/etc for editing and everything is OK unless he tries to create something new (Ctrl-N), than he gets a pop-up with %msg: <User xxx does not have enough privilege to execute stored procedure %CSP.StudioTemplateMgr_Templates>

Question Alexey Maslov · Mar 6, 2018

I have one in my testing environment. According to https://community.intersystems.com/post/licensing-ubuntu-and-suse-20171-and-later, I should move to native Ubuntu build with 2017.2. So I downloaded Cache for UNIX (Ubuntu Server LTS for x86-64) 2017.2.1 and tried to update my existing 2015.1.4 installation. What I got was:

Upgrade from lnxsusex64 platform is not allowed.

No packages will be installed.

Meanwhile new Cache 2017.2 instance was installed without any problem.

The question is: how to upgrade an existing one?
