The container for IAM, including all relevant artifacts to upgrade from earlier versions of IAM can be downloaded from the WRC Software Distribution site in the Components area.

The build number for this release is IAM 2.3.3.2-1. 

This release is based on Kong Enterprise version 2.3.3.2.

InterSystems API Manager 2.3 makes it easier to deploy in a secure manner and for high-availability scenarios  It has many new capabilities including:

• Introduction of hybrid mode
• Broader support for Docker Secrets

GA releases are now published for the 2020.3 version of InterSystems IRIS, InterSystems IRIS for Health, and InterSystems IRIS Studio!

A full set of containers for these products is available from the WRC Software Distribution site, including community editions of InterSystems IRIS and InterSystems IRIS for Health. In addition, all containers are also available from the new InterSystems Container Registry. This article explains how to use the registry.

The build number for these releases is 2020.3.0.221.0.

InterSystems IRIS 2019.1 has been out for a while and I would like to cover some enhancements for handling JSON which might have gone unnoticed. Dealing with JSON as a serialization format is an important part of building modern applications, especially when you interact with REST endpoints.

As you might have heard, we just introduced the InterSystems API Manager (IAM); a new feature of the InterSystems IRIS Data Platform™, enabling you to monitor, control and govern traffic to and from web-based APIs within your IT infrastructure. I am happy to announce that InterSystems API Manager is now generally available. InterSystems API Manager (IAM) is a new feature of the InterSystems IRIS Data Platform™, enabling you to monitor, control and govern traffic to and from web-based APIs within your IT infrastructure.

I am happy to share the news that Zen Mojo 1.1.2 has been released. This release includes a critical fix for Firefox that we had to get out as fast as possible. No other changes are included to allow easy upgrades. We recommend upgrading to this release if you are running on Zen Mojo 1.1.1.

All upcoming Caché and Ensemble releases will ship with Zen Mojo 1.1.2.

Any fix or enhancement that was previously planned for Zen Mojo 1.1.2 will be included in the next upcoming release 1.1.3.

As Bill has mentioned earlier in his post, we have carefully reviewed the JSON capabilities and made some adjustments to ensure they deliver the best benefit to you. In this post, I am going to describe the modifications in more detail and provide guidance for you to understand the implication for your code base.

Recently I have been posting some updates to our JSON capabilities and I am very glad that so many of you provided feedback. Today I would like to focus on another facet: Producing JSON with a SQL query.

Introduction

The field test of Caché 2016.2 has been available for quite some time and I would like to focus on one of the substantial features that is new in this version: the document data model. This model is a natural addition to the multiple ways we support for handling data including Objects, Tables and Multidimensional arrays. It makes the platform more flexible and suitable for even more use cases.

Starting with 2016.2 the Java XEP binding will no longer support the in-memory connection mode. The in-memory mode was deprecated in earlier versions and applications should switch to the TCP/IP connection mode instead.

The TCP/IP connection mode has bridged the gap in performance to a large extent over the past couple of years and enables the Java client to run on a remote machine.

Oracle plans to deprecate the much-maligned Java browser plugin in JDK 9. For years, the bundled plugin put users at risk with its numerous security flaws. The web is clearly moving to a plugin-free state, which is a good direction.

If you are relying on the Java browser plugin, you should take a look at Java Web Start.
